JCS Capital Fund: Your Support is Essential and Everlasting
JCS is a school that aims for excellence, encourages creativity, supports curiosity, and fosters a love for our Ukrainian culture and heritage. This year we are launching our fundraising campaign that highlights the strength and commitment of our community. The goal is to provide an enriching learning experience for our students today and for future generations.
Support from our community helps prepare our children to be the leaders of tomorrow. Your invaluable donations help to enrich curriculum, support special projects and ensure that academic, athletics, arts, and heritage programs are exceptional.
This year, with Ms. Manini at the helm, we have identified a few areas of focus for our school. These 4 pillars were carefully selected to support our school today and in the future. They give our students many opportunities to find their passion, get curious, and strengthen their Ukrainian roots.
S.T.E.A.M Initiatives
JCS offers a rigorous curriculum and prides itself on being ranked as one of the top Catholic schools in Toronto. Your investment in various enrichment opportunities will continue to support our students in learning new ways to express themselves with creativity, enthusiasm and self-confidence through a variety of S.T.E.A.M programs and initiatives. The S.T.E.A.M programming aims to spark our childrens’ enthusiasm for exploring their world. The S.T.E.A.M (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) approach gives students the opportunity to apply concepts and skills from different disciplines to solve meaningful problems.
➔ Our Ukrainian Heritage Program
By choosing JCS for our children, we already see the importance of maintaining and fostering a love for our Ukrainian heritage, culture and language. We believe that this fund can further support the experiences, traditions and knowledge that we can pass onto our children and their children. It is so heartwarming to see our school community take pride in their Ukrainian history, homeland and beautiful culture.
➔ Wellbeing
During the last few years, in particular, we have seen the need for and importance of wellbeing. By partnering with various stakeholders in the area of social emotional learning and mindfulness based practices, we can provide students with the sense of agency required to identify their needs for personal wellbeing and the ability to access the appropriate support. Your gift will support both ongoing program development and teacher training and facilitation.
➔ Environmental Sustainability
With your donation, you can support the maintenance and stewardship of our outdoor spaces, including the Kindergarten playscape, Outdoor Classrooms, Fields, and beautification of the school entrance.
At JCS, parents are our partners in helping prepare our students for the future. We respect and value the role you play and have a very active parent body. Parents, Grandparents, Alumni and Community partners are an integral part of the JCS community. We encourage your continued engagement with our school. Your gift will have a lasting impact on our children today and for years to come.
JCS believes in sparking excitement to learn through exploration and self-discovery. Through your generous gift, we can achieve our goal of creating a rich learning experience for all.
Ways to donate:
- Participate in the monthly fundraisers with your son or daughter via Cash on Line under CSPC or with a cheque written to JCS CSPC: Syla Hromady Fund. Our first fundraiser is coming up.Look out for the letter in the upcoming days!
- Pledge a monetary gift in your family or teacher’s name on Cash on Line under CSPC or by cheque to St. Nicholas parish or e-transfer at school@saintnicholas.ca with JCS Syla Hromady Fund in the memo/notes section and you will receive a Tax Receipt for donations of $100+
We will honour our donors in a special way. Here are our donor categories:
- Platinum $5,000+
- Gold $1,000+
- Silver $500+
- Bronze $100+
3. Reach out to community partners, grandparents and friends and see if they can contribute. They could do so by writing a cheque to St. Nicholas Parish or by sending an e-transfer to St. Nicholas parish at school@saintnicholas.ca, including JCS “Syla Hromady” Campaign in the notes section. They will be issued a Tax Receipt by St. Nicholas parish for donations over $100. We are stronger together!

Школа Кардинала Йосипа Сліпого (JCS) – це школа, яка прагне досконалості, заохочує до творчості, розвиває допитливість, виховує в любові до нашої української мови, культури, спадщини та в дусі греко-католицької віри.
Цей рік ми розпочинаємо з благодійної акції – “Сила Громади”, метою якої є спільними зусиллями створити найкращі умови для академічного та соціального розвитку наших дітей. Ваші внески допоможуть збагатити навчальний план, впровадити нові проекти та підтримати українську програму.
Одним з перших запланованих проектів є впровадження програми S.T.E.A.M, яка розпалить ентузіазм наших дітей до навчання. Підхід S.T.E.A.M (наука, технології, інженерія, мистецтво та математика) надасть можливість нашим студентам застосовувати концепції з різних дисциплін для вирішення важливих проблем.
В планах є також збагатити екологічний простір навколо школи, створити умови проведення уроків на свіжому повітрі та оновити майданчики.
Велике значення для нашої шкільної громади має можливість виховувати наших дітей в українському дусі та з вірою в серці. Ваші внески будуть підтримувати, збагачувати та розвивати українську та релігійну програми в школі.
Від дошкільного віку до 8-го класу, це значний відтинок часу, коли діти щоденно поглинають нові знання, розвивають свої таланти, пізнають світ навколо та шукають в ньому своє місце. Надзвичайно важливо, щоб ми разом, цілою громадою, надали максимум зусиль щоб виховати це нове покоління свідомим та багатогранним, готовим до вимог завтрашнього дня.
Завдяки Вашій благодійній підтримці, ми зможемо надати все необхідне, щоб підготувати наших учнів стати лідерами громади в майбутньому. Приєднуйтеся до цієї надважливої справи!
